Beach Patrol, Rescue & First Aid Service
The Clubs primary function is to provide a Beach Patrol and First Aid Service at Bulcock Beach Caloundra.
Caloundra is the most Southern mainland town (city) on the Sunshine Coast, and a popular tourist destination,
especially for families from Brisbane and regional/country Queensland.
Our Club patrols Bulcock Beach, which is located just inside the Caloundra Bar and is a favoured spot for families and the elderly;
additionally groups attend the beach, including school groups and groups of people with special needs.
Bulcock Beach is the main City Beach for Caloundra which is located near the main shopping street, K-Mart and Coles Shopping centre, and directly adjacent to Rumba Resort.
The Beach is a white sand beach with little white water (surf).
The bathing reserve, and hence patrol area, is about 100m in length. Beach Patrols are conducted on most weekends and public holidays during the summer season.
We conduct beach patrols on all weekends and public holidays over summer (September School Holidays to May Day Public Holiday).
Patrols are generally conducted from 8.30am to 4.30pm (5.30pm in Christmas School Holidays), however times may vary depending various factors.
Outside of these times, a life saver or lifeguard may not be available.
Look for the red & yellow flags which designate the patrol area, if these flags are flying life savers are on patrol.
